1938 CODDINGTON V12 HEMI „THE FRENCH CONNECTION“

This one-off custom-made car looks similar to a ‚37 Delahaye and was Boyd Coddington‘s last build before he passed away. Known as „The French Connection,“ the car has a custom one-off Art Morrison chassis, an Italian-made 12.8-liter, all-aluminum HEMI-headed V12 BPM motor, and a custom-built Turbo 400 transmission. Also features a custom Ford 9“ rear end, coilover suspension and custom one-off Boyd Coddington wheels. The custom hand-formed aluminum and steel body is by Marcel and Sons. The upholstery is made from 15 full ostrich skins and two full cow hides. Also has custom-made fitted luggage and a custom fuel-injection system. This is Boyd‘s last vision for a car – his final ride. Comes with Letter of Authenticity from Boyd‘s wife, Jo Coddington. **TITLED AS A 2015 SPECIAL CONSTRUCTION**

 

Barrett-Jackson

The 45. Birthday auction of Barret-Jackson in Arizona will be nine days long. More than 1500 collector vehicles are to be sold at this time. As a representative of the time in that Russ Jackson and Tom Barrett established their company, a 1939 Mercedes-Benz 540 K A roadster will be sold. It was also one of the first vehicles, which has been auctioned by the company’s two founders. The now offered 540 K was shipped originally to field marshal Erhard Milch, before it went to the Switzerland. In 1982, the car was completely restored and spent most of the time in museums from then on. On several Concours events, the Mercedes-Benz 540 K roadster was considered with prices.  www.barrett-jackson.com/

RM Sotheby’s  will offer about 100 vehicles in  Scottsdale and hopes on the success of 1915 (sales $63.7 million). A special car on offer is the 1956 Jaguar D-type works ‚Long Nose‘, chassis No. XKD 604. It is the first of six copies, which were built in the season of 1956. In 2011, the car was presented at the Jaguar heritage exhibition during the Monterey Motorsports reunion. www.rmsothebys.com/
