On the morning of the 26th of May, 180 ladies occupied the Place Vendôme in Paris. For the 18th time, the rally of the Princesses began in the French metropolis. 90 teams in beautiful oldtimers, the oldest including a Jaguar XK15 from 1955, controlled by the Belgian Charlotte Castelein and her co-pilot Sabine Deleu. Men are banished from the cockpit during this special rally – but of course they are welcome as spectators.
Whoever thinks the “princesses” consist of cotton candy was deceived. The organizer, Viviane Zaniroli, attaches great importance to driving and stress resistance and the requirements were high. In five stages, the best summer weather came from Paris to Saint-Tropez.
In the end, Stéphanie Wante (France) won the silver crown with copilot Veronique Castelain with their Porsche 911, and Dominique Goleaux (Belgium) in her Triumph TR5.
