Due to the weather forecast, the this year Amelia Island Concours D’Elegance took place on Saturday. So the wheather was nice when the most beautiful vintage cars in the world were presented on the green of the golf course. At the end of the 23rd edition of the Amelia Island Concours the two winners “Best of Show” were determined. Best of Show de Sport was the 1963 Ferrari 250 / 275P. Four of these race cars were built as 250P with the V12 engine for the prototype World Championship at Ferrari. They raced the 1000 kilometers on the Nürburgring and also Le Mans. In 1964, the capacity was powered to 3.3 liters and the prototypes henceforth were called 275P. The Ferrari shown in Amelia Iceland was able to win some victories between 1964 and 1965, including John Surtess at the wheel.
The “Best of Show” award was given to the Duesenberg J/JS Convertible with a Murphy body from 1929. The vehicle was once owned by Edward Beale McLean, whose family owned the Washington Post.
