The 14th Zurich Classic Car Award was held in Zurich / Switzerland on the weekend of 22nd August. Around seventy vintage cars had gathered in the square in front of the Swiss National Bank to face a beauty contest. For the first time, motorcycles were allowed to participate in the Concours this year. Vehicles were approved until 1979. The vehicles were in various categories of evaluation by the jury. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Porsche brand, a special field of rare Porsche models could be seen directly in front of the facade of the Swiss National Bank.
The audience was also allowed to vote for their favorite among the participating vehicles. It opted mostly for the Hispano Suiza J12 Berline with a special body of Vanvooren. When driving over the red carpet impressed the quiet 12-cylinder engine with its displacement of 9.4 liters. The price of the vehicle in the best unrestored original condition won the 1961 Maserati 3500 GT Touring Superleggera. The owner of the Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina Coupe was also awarded the coveted “Best of Show” prize.
