Auction – original Ferrar from the 1961 Paris Auto Show

Recent auctions showed, that Ferraris with a real history are highly in demand. So the sum of 32.1 million euros was payed recently in Paris for the Ferrari 335 spider Scaglietti and also the original left Ferrari 250 GT SWB spider from the Baillion collection from the prior possession by Jean Paul Belmondo scored at the end a total sum of 16.3 million euros.
Now Artcurial on the offers again a Ferrari with a really interesting history on July 9 at the Le Mans auction. The Ferrari 250GT SWB Berlinetta (VIN #2917GT), which was issued in 1961 on the Paris Auto Salon. The vehicle was in the possession for the last 47 years and distinguishes itself through all matching numbers.
The Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta was originally not painted in the today’s red paint, but was presented at the Paris Motor Show in an Azzuro light blue. The former buyer, an importer from Franco-Brittany, sent the vehicle body Chapron and had it painted black, because all of his collector cars were black. Sometime before 1969, before the current owner acquired the car, the current Red was missed to the Ferrari. The vehicle was moved regularly on quiet roads of France and continuously maintained. Thus, it is an absolutely rare specimen in a truly exceptional condition.
