A perfect competition for classic cars will take place on August 21th in Switzerland: the Zurich Classic Car Award, ZCCA for short, since 2012 a permanent institution at Bürkliplatz. On the shores of Lake Zurich, more than 50 iconic cars compete for the attention of the expert jury. For the first time there will be a special category called “Micro Cars”, to which 15 vehicles are expected. And on the occasion of the 100th birthday, a dedicated Bentley class is planned to compete in the heart of the city at the Limmat. In addition, as in previous years, numerous brands and models of the entire pre- and post-war period are expected.
In addition to the cross-class Public Award, one car will be crowned as “Best of Show” among all concours class winners at the end. As always, there is also a second prize for the best preserved vehicle with patina as “Best preserved”. Last year, this title was awarded to a Maserati 3500 GT that had been parked for more than 40 years at just 25,000 kilometers – and now presented as original as if it had just rolled out of the factory floor.
The ZCCA – and its Ticino offshoot, the Ascona Classic Car Award – convinces again and again with fantastically beautiful and unique models, which are mainly provided by Swiss collectors and dealers for the Concours. Among them are always numerous sports and luxury vehicles, prototypes and icons of the automotive world, with which the Concours deserves the title “top-class” again and again.
