Due to the current Porsche in the DRIVE exhibition Jakob Kähler presents large Porsche photographs. They are a tribute to the visionary automotive pioneers who designed vehicle icons such as the Porsche 911. Jakob Kähler is thereby not only an avid photographer, but also a true “petrolhead” – both is reflected in its large-format images. Inspired by all their beauty and elegance, Kähler sees classic cars especially with an aesthetic look. Pictures that flatter the sculptural forms of fine art due to the analog multi exposures. Abstract-looking structures lie about the cars, changing the perception. The effect is far from the usual cooling sober smoothness of digital photography.
” Take a second look’ is the first photography exhibition in the DRIVE. We are very pleased to promote in the future more young talents, which combine art and technology so creatively. We start the new series with Jakob Kähler, a talent from the Volkswagen Group, and look forward to more photography exhibitions“, explains Cornelia Schneider, head of the DRIVE Volkswagen Group Forum. “The DRIVE is a place where automotive engineering, design and art meet. I am proud to be able to show my photographs within such a framework”, says Jakob Kähler. The photography exhibition is opened from Monday to Friday from 14: 00 until 17:00 and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11: 00 until 18:00 in the foyer of the Conference area of the DRIVE Volkswagen Group Forum until June 12, 2016.
The Volkswagen Group Forum DRIVE is the communication platform of the group in Berlin. Since 2015, Volkswagen Group presents at the Lindencorso its twelve brands for the first time worldwide and the financial services AG, located in the heart of the capital.
