Rivamare

In the last few months the name of an Italian Lago D ´ Iseo in Northern Italy lake was on everyone’s lips. There, artist Christo presented his latest cover artwork, the floating bridges. But this lake is also very closely linked to the history of the Italian boat manufacturer RIVA. , Here, in 1949 Carlo Riva founded the small boat shipyard in Sarnico on the Lago D ´ Iseo at the age of 27 years. The Riva boats are distinguished by being crafted entirely of noble wood and the gloss lacquer covering the surface of the boat body. The line of the boat rejuvenated dynamically to the stern. A round, large panoramic window, much chrome and the bright leather seats were also as typical as the padded mattress on the stern of the boat. In the 50s and 60s, the list of prominent owners of Riva boats was long. Including Sean Connery, Brigitte Bardot, Richard Burton and Sophia Loren. Who wanted to be with the Jet set, needed to own a Riva boat. In 2000, Riva became a subsidiary of the Italian yacht shipyard of Ferretti.

Now Riva presents its newest model, the 39-foot-long Rivamare, a boat with potential to become a classic, because this boat Riva has absorbed some elements of the original heritage boats which were integrated into the design. Again, a large part of the boat is made of mahogany wood. All parts and trims are made of chrome-plated aluminium. Riva deliberately renounced any plastic parts. Also the shape of the hull leans heavily on the legendary models from the 50s and 60s years and narrowes towards to the stern. A floating platform that can be extended through the fold-out anchor is located at the stern itself. The ventilation gills for the engine compartment can be found below the u-shaped control platform. The 39 foot Rivamare powered by two Volvo D400 DPH engines with 400 HP. Thus the approx. 12 metre-long speedboat reached a top speed of 40 knots (75 km).
Of course, the classic white leather seats may not be missing on or below deck. The deck surfaces and seats are fabrictaed in this bright leather. Below you will find an elegant living room corner, which can be changed into a double bed on demand. As it should be for a luxury yacht, a bathroom and a kitchen may not be missing. Most interior is finished in classic style mahogany wood.
