For nine hours, the Woodward Avenue in Pontiac, Michigan turned into a drag race strip on August 19. 2016, a racetrack on which an eighth-mile race may be held. This race for street-legal drag racer and muscle cars took place during the annual Roadkill nights and was sponsored by Dodge. It also was a Dodge Charger with a 5.6 litre Twin Turbo Gen2 Hemi V-8 engine from 1969, who won a victory at the end. Some 30,000 spectators came to see this spectacle. Over 350 highly tuned, but street-legal race cars were joining the eighth-mile race, fighting for the prize, worth 10,000 dollars. But the tires were not only spinning at the start of the duel over the 1/8 mile, but also on the drift course right next to it, were the audience could marvel at professional drivers with Dodge Viper and Dodge Charger SRT Hellcats during their driftings.
