Just in time as a Lancia Asturia, which was built in 1936 at Pininfarina won the Pebble Beach Concours D´elegance, Pininfarina presents once again the E-bike Fuoriserie shown 2015 at the Geneva Motor Show: an electrically assisted bicycle with bonds of the craftmanship from the 30s at the coachbuilding company Pininfarina. The result surely is worth being seen . It is a jewel on two wheels. The frame is made from hardened chrome-steel tubes and fully chromed. Parts of the frame are coated with Walnut root wood veneer and painted high-gloss. The saddle and the handlebars are artfully covered with leather. The structure of the leather is very strong leaned on the interior design of the Lancia Astura Bocca by Pininfarina, built in 1936. The leather works and also the small tool pockets on the seat and frame are made by the Florence leather manufactory The Bridge.
A small motor in the rear wheel hub perfectly reduces the energy consumption of the driver and allows to reach large distances, thanks to electric power. The resulting energy is used, to feed the high-performance Supernova lights for headlight and taillight from german production. The headlight has a light power of almost 200 lumens, at extremely low power. In the rear, the bike has a H+Son SI 42 rim, on the front the new G609 aluminium rim with a weight of just 415 grams. The 28 “tires Panaracer Ribmo is reinforced by a Kevlar ring and protects it from a plate of sharp objects. Camangnolo Veloce brakes provide a safe standstill. The brake levers are artfully decorated with the Pininfarina logo.
The Pininfarina Fuoriserie bike is only produced in a limited edition of 30 pieces, loosely based on the 1930s in which the Lancia Astura Bocca was built.
