50 Years Shelby Super Snake

It is exactly 50 years ago, that Carroll Shelby and his team at Shelby American built the first Super snake as a test vehicle for Goodyear. The vehicle was based on the Ford Mustang GT500. The engine of the GT40 was used as a power unit. A powerhouse, which however was so expensive in production, it never went into series production.

Now Shelby presents a current Special Edition to the 50th anniversary of the birth of the super snake, based on the current Ford Mustang. The modern Super Snake was tuned accordingly and thus brings a total of 750 horsepower onto the street. The Super Snake is equipped with special emblems and a special paint scheme. They are limited to worldwide five hundred vehicles.

The 5 litre V8 engine is turbo charged and comes originally from the Ford Mustang GT. The suspension are adapted and modified accordingly. Wilwood brakes work on the front and rear,. 20-inch aluminum wheels are decorating both axes.
The powerful 750 hp accelerate the Super Snake in 3.5 seconds from zero to 100 km / h. The Super Snake carries the genes of the 60s.
